- Best for
- Repeated trigger practice without laser feedback
- Required separately
- Nothing for compatible models
Use this rechargeable Smart DryFireMag independently for repeated trigger-reset practice, or add it to an existing compatible Smart SureStrike Red or IR 9mm Laser Training System.
LASER COMPATIBILITY: The Smart DryFireMag is designed for use only with compatible Smart SureStrike laser-system components. It is not compatible with firing pin-activated or other third-party laser cartridges.
Starting from scratch? A complete PDP F-Series Smart Red or Smart IR system is the simplest and most cost-effective way to purchase the compatible magazine, selected laser cartridge and required safety-pipe components together.
Includes the PDP F-Series Smart DryFireMag, visible Red 9mm Laser Cartridge and required safety-pipe components.
Includes the PDP F-Series Smart DryFireMag, invisible IR 9mm Laser Cartridge and required safety-pipe components. A compatible electronic target or simulator is required.
Select one compatible laser cartridge and the Compact Safety Pipe Kit. These individual components are intended primarily to replace parts or expand a compatible Smart system you already own.
Visible feedback on paper, physical, reflective and compatible electronic targets.
Invisible IR feedback requiring a compatible electronic target or simulator.
Required to secure a compatible Smart 9mm Laser Cartridge in the barrel.
PDP F-Series Compact owners: Use the included magazine spacer with a compatible PDP F-Series Compact. Compatible PDP F-Series Full-Size models do not use the spacer.

The Smart DryFireMag® for Walther® PDP F-Series Mag Only can be used independently for repeated trigger-reset practice without racking the slide between trigger presses. It can also expand an existing compatible Smart SureStrike Red or IR 9mm Laser Training System.
MAGAZINE ONLY: A laser cartridge, laser-cartridge battery packs and barrel safety-pipe components are not included.
When installed and adjusted according to the product instructions, the Smart DryFireMag interacts with the pistol’s trigger mechanism to simulate repeated trigger presses without cycling the firearm’s action.
No laser cartridge or safety-pipe components are required when using the magazine independently. In this configuration, it provides trigger-reset simulation without laser shot feedback.
Standalone use: The magazine simulates trigger reset. It does not activate a laser, cycle the slide, operate the firearm’s action or fire a projectile.
The Smart DryFireMag ships with a pull weight that closely approximates the firearm’s actual trigger pull weight. Trigger configurations, installed components and individual firearms can vary, so the simulated trigger pull might not feel identical to the live-fire trigger pull of every pistol.
The Smart DryFireMag contains an internal rechargeable lithium battery and includes a USB-C charging cable. Allow approximately 2.25 hours for a full charge, which can provide up to approximately 50,000 trigger presses or laser pulses. Actual battery life can vary with use and storage conditions.
When pairing this magazine with a compatible Smart SureStrike™ Laser Cartridge, keep the protective shrink wrap on each laser-cartridge battery pack. Remove the battery pack from the laser cartridge after every training session to reduce battery drain and extend its storage life. Laser cartridges and laser-cartridge battery packs are not included.
The tan baseplate helps distinguish this PDP F-Series Smart DryFireMag from regular PDP DryFireMags and live-fire magazines during dry-fire practice.
Always verify that your firearm is unloaded and follow the included instructions before beginning any dry-fire training session.
