No magazine spacer required: The Smart DryFireMag works directly in the compatible Shadow Systems models listed below.
| Caliber | Compatible Shadow Systems Models |
|---|---|
| 9MM | DR920, MR918, MR920, XR920 and XR920P, including corresponding optic-ready configurations. |
| COMPATIBILITY NOT CONFIRMED | |
| Other DR920-, MR920- and XR920-based variants have not been individually confirmed. A configuration may work when its frame and trigger system remain the same and its differences are limited to the slide, barrel, compensator, sights or optic. Review the barrel-length requirements below. | |
| NOT COMPATIBLE | |
| CR920, CR920X, CR920XP, AXIO and California-compliant Shadow Systems models. | |
Pistols with barrels 5 inches or longer: Additional safety-pipe length is required. This may include compatible Shadow Systems L models or other long-barrel configurations.
Use with the black safety-pipe extension already included with this system.
Use with the short safety pipe and black extension already included with this system.
Using another GLOCK-pattern platform? GLOCK, Ruger RXM and PSA Dagger Compact pistols use different trigger-bar arrangements and platform-specific tolerances. Choose the Smart Red system designed for your pistol rather than using the Shadow Systems magazine interchangeably.
Prefer invisible laser training? Choose the complete Smart Infrared system for use with a compatible electronic target or simulator.
FLEXIBLE TARGET OPTIONS: Start immediately with paper, physical or included reflective targets—no electronic target is required. When you want more structure, add a compatible LaserPET II or I-MTTS electronic target for reactive and timed drills, or connect with a Smokeless Range simulator for projected exercises and expandable training content.
The Smart DryFireMag® for Shadow Systems® Red (Visible) Laser Training System combines repeated trigger-reset simulation with visible laser feedback without requiring you to rack the slide between presses.
The included Smart SureStrike™ Red 9mm Laser Cartridge produces a brief visible laser pulse with each properly adjusted trigger press. Train with paper or physical targets for immediate visual feedback, or pair the system with a compatible electronic target or simulator for a broader training experience that may include automated tracking, marksmanship exercises, moving targets, recreational drills and multi-user competition.
The rechargeable Smart DryFireMag interacts with the pistol’s trigger mechanism to simulate repeated trigger presses. Each press activates the included proprietary Smart SureStrike Red 9mm Laser Cartridge, providing a visible point of impact without cycling the firearm’s action.
Important: This system simulates trigger reset and provides laser feedback. It does not cycle the slide or operate the firearm’s action.
The Smart DryFireMag ships with a pull weight that closely approximates the firearm’s actual trigger pull weight. Trigger configurations, installed components and individual firearms can vary, so the simulated trigger pull might not feel identical to the live-fire trigger pull of every pistol.
If your pistol uses a custom trigger that resets forward to the cocked position, remove the Smart DryFireMag’s internal spring according to the included adjustment instructions before training.
The Smart DryFireMag contains an internal rechargeable lithium battery and includes a USB-C charging cable. Allow approximately 2.25 hours for a full charge, which can provide up to approximately 50,000 trigger presses or laser-cartridge pulses. Actual battery life can vary with use and storage conditions.
The Smart SureStrike Laser Cartridge uses replaceable, non-rechargeable battery packs. Two laser-cartridge battery packs are included. Keep the protective shrink wrap on the battery pack during use. Remove the battery pack from the laser cartridge after every training session to reduce battery drain and extend its storage life.
An electronic target or simulator is not required for visible red laser training, but compatible equipment can add structured drills, performance measurements and more interactive feedback.
A compact standalone electronic target with six interactive programs plus visual, audible and numeric feedback. Its built-in shot timer records split and total drill times without a computer, phone, webcam or Wi-Fi connection.
Choose a three-target or five-target package with a wireless controller. Build multi-target drills with light and sound feedback, timing data, configurable target groups and modes such as steel plate, chase-the-ball, shoot/no-shoot and double tap.
Move into projected drills with automatic laser tracking, ten core exercises, supported two-shooter competition and optional expansion content. The Home Simulator requires a compatible PC laptop, projector and projector screen; larger package options are also available.
Watch the comparison to see how visible Red feedback differs from invisible IR training and its required target or simulator.
The desert-tan baseplate and lever help distinguish the Smart DryFireMag from live-fire magazines during dry-fire practice. The remainder of the magazine body is black.
Always verify that your firearm is unloaded and follow the included product instructions before beginning any dry-fire training session.
